The 2nd Annual Great Online Cookie Exchange Extravaganza: White Chocolate Macadamia Cookies

I know what you're thinking.  This is a sex blog, not a food blog.  Why are you posting a cookie recipe when what we really want is to read stories about sex clubs you've visited, and Jack's smart ass answers to Sunday Stealing questions?  Well the fact is, posting a cookie recipe is very appropriate for our blog, as cookies have always been tied into our sex life.  When we were first dating, Jack told me how much he liked freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies.  From then on, I made sure to keep balls of flash-frozen cookie dough in the freezer so that I could make him a plate of cookies whenever he wanted.  One night, when we'd finished having sex, I surprised him with some.  I think that was when he fell in love with me.

When Hedone told us about the 2nd Annual Great Online Cookie Exchange Extravaganza, organized by Jz of A Reluctant Bitch, we knew we had to take part.  We'll happily choose cookies over cake or pie any day of the week.  With the exception of ice cream, cookies are our favorite dessert.  While Jack loves chocolate chip cookies, he doesn't care for white chocolate chip cookies at all.  That is, he didn't until he tried these white chocolate macadamia cookies.  They are so delicious that I am often asked to bring them to dinner parties and family functions.  In fact, we've been making them for Vincent Vega of Tales From Under Our Covers for years.

We will refrain from making a tasteless "batter" joke here.

Ingredients

2 sticks butter, melted
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs beaten
2 1/2 cups flour, unsifted
2 cups white chocolate (or white chocolate chips)
1 1/2 cups macadamia nuts, chopped (measure before chopping)

Mix the sugars into the melted butter.  Mix in the vanilla, baking soda, and salt.  Add the eggs and stir again.  Add the flour and mix thoroughly.

If you're using block white chocolate, chop it up into pieces roughly the size of chocolate chips.  You can do this in a food processor by cutting the chocolate in chunks and processing it with the steel blade.  If you're using white chocolate chips, just measure out 2 cups.

Measure out the whole macadamia nuts.  Chop them into pieces roughly the size of peas with a knife, or use your food processor and the steel blade.

Add the white chocolate and nuts to your bowl and mix thoroughly.

Drop the dough by teaspoons on an ungreased cookie sheet, 12 cookies to a standard-size sheet.  Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until nicely browned.

Let the cookies cool for two minutes, then remove them from the baking sheet and transfer them to a wire rack to finish cooling.
